It was almost fitting that as I drove into Boulder yesterday for the funeral it started to rain. The song on KLUV was "I Wish You Were Here". If ever there was a time when God spoke straight to the heart of sorrow - the time was yesterday. Thank you, God, for such an appropriate response to such a day. Brad was a servant, a leader, a man after God's own heart. He was funny, too. Tom (our pastor) reminded us of James 4:14 - You do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Brad spoke and lived God's Word. It's hard when men of God are taken earlier than we think they should be, but Jesus knows our pain and sorrow. He is no stranger to what we go through.
Please pray for traveling mercies on the Sherman family as they travel to Oklahoma for the burial.
