Spring Has Sprung!

I can't believe it's been so long since last spring! I know it's the same amount of time each year but this year with all the snow I think I have longed for Spring more and I am definitely more excited about it. There was a wren and a sparrow singing outside my bathroom window yesterday morning so I opened my window and drank in the songs. Kiki and Mattie were in on it too so I sat on down and let them stand on my legs so they could see them. Kiki noticed the 4 bunnies across the street (stupid bunnies who poop in my yard and eat my flowers-I mean cute little animals that my children love!) and we all got just a little excited about the warm days ahead.
So it got me thinking that I should share this excitement about Spring with Tracy who is experiencing lovely weather (rain and chilly) in Seattle for the week. No matter how much I described warm breezes, beautiful song birds, new tulips and daffodils coming up in the yard,
he could only imagine. He can take my word for it. He wasn't experiencing it with me. I wondered if this moment could be compared with my relationship with Christ. I can share all of the amazing things that happen when I read God's Word, pray and talk with God, worship Him in song, pour out my heart to Him in a journal, but can you really know the amazing experience I am having unless you too are reading, praying, worshiping and communing with Christ?
It is a great time of year for new birth. Is it your time to start anew? Easter is coming and the girls are so excited about it! First their new dresses but a close tie would be the celebration that Jesus' tomb is empty! He not only died for our sins but conquered death. He will return for His children some day, but until then He blesses us with the hope of Spring and the new beauty it brings. Enjoy the day!
